Royals Win Tom Prince Charity Tournament

On their first invite to the Tom Prince Charity Tournament hosted by Solent Softball League, the Royals we 4-0-1 to win the Platinum Final. With the threat of snow, the Royals travelled down from Maidenhead to take on Sluggers, Brewers, OAPs and the Falcons in the round robin. 4 excellent team performances resulted in 3 wins and a draw against OAPs, whom the Roayls pipped to the Platinum final thanks to a better defensive record.


In the Final the Royals met the Isotopes. The first innings was very close with the Royals hlding a 14-6 lead. In the second inning, the Royals defence showed why the team had reaches the final and held the Isotopes to just 7 runs. The game was played out, and Royals eventually won 23-13 to cap and excellent day and a fanastic tournament


Royals take the Plate at WMSL Spring Indoor

The Royals rounded off a good weekend on the Diamond with a Plate final victory at the WMSL Spring Indoor event last Sunday. Following on from the win at Tom Prince, the Royals played Bracknell, KK's, TV and some familiar faces from the previous day in the Tomahawks from Solent. The Royals 2-2 record set them up for a plate semi-final agaist the MK Diamonds. The Diamonds didn;t quite find their batting and the Royals advanced comfotably in the end to play the RG Blue Sox.


As in the semi-final the Blue Sox didn't find their batting and the Royals ran out 36-2 winners.


Two tournament and two trophies rounds off a good weekend for the Royals. Next up EMSL First Ball.
